Purple & Green for the Holiday Season
One of my favorite color combinations across Seasons is purple and green – and in the Fall/Winter Season, I love mixing toned-down versions of these colors to create soft looks that are both chic and festive, and relaxed.
For today’s look, I chose lavender and dark olive to create a feminine outfit that’s cozy and elevated.
Here are the exact ingredients to this outfit formula, and how I styled it:
- Satin Slip Skirt. I’ve previously styled this Free People Normani Bias Cut Satin Midi Skirt in a different look HERE, and love how it always looks so elegant and polished. I found a few similar ones as this one is sold out (you can sign up to a restock alert via link above) – check them out in the carousel below. I think a satin midi is a wardrobe must-have to pair with everything from graphic tees and leather jackets with booties, to silky & sequin tops, sweaters and urban sneakers.
- Cozy Sweater. I paired the skirt with this Tularosa Amina Contrast Rib Sweater in a refined green color with an interesting rib knit – I love mixing textured pieces with silky pieces to add dimension to my outfits. I found a few similar sweaters (some one sale!) – see below.
- Colored Shades. These Garrett Leight Calabar Sunnies have green lenses that nicely pick up the green color of the sweater – “linking” the colors in the outfit to create cohesiveness in the look.
- Soft-Colored Bag. This Mansur Cloud Leather Clutch is equal parts casual and put-together – it’s hue is in an analogous color family as the lavender color of the skirt – again, creating repetition and a “story” in the look.
- Shearling Slides. I gushed about these Coclico Gina Shearling Slides in my previous blog post and on my Instagram – and love how elegant they look with classic outfits – ones that would typically call for heels.
I hope this inspires you to try out a similar outfit this Holiday Season!
As always, please feel free to share the outfits you create via Instagram, using hashtag #ModnitsaOutfit in your posts, and I’ll be sure repost them on my stories!
